Coming of AgeComing of Age is a community program designed to inform seniors and their adult children about vital issues they face, and to empower seniors to remain independent for as long as possible. The 8-week seminar series is held every March-April, and includes such broad subjects as, financial planning, medical issues, estate planning, elder abuse, preventative and alternative medicine, volunteer opportunities, long-term care, and funeral planning. The seminar was founded by Thomas J. Hale of Financial Management, Inc., and is presented through the ongoing collaborative efforts of Financial Management, Inc., Aging and Long Term Care, Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health, Harman Center, Living Care Retirement Community, and Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. |

The Capitol TheatreThe Capitol Theatre stands as a testament to the community's commitment to its heritage and its long standing commitment to the arts. Our stage is home to a variety of productions that are presented by numerous local organizations, such as Yakima Symphony Orchestra, Town Hall, Youthworks, the Follies and many local dance studios. |

West Valley Dollars for ScholarsSince 1994, the West Valley Dollars for Scholars Foundation has been dedicated to raising money with the express purpose of awarding scholarships to graduating seniors. It is our intent not only to assist the recipients in furthering their education beyond high school, but it is also an opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication they have demonstrated in achieving success here at West Valley. |

Yakima Humane SocietyThe Humane Society of Central Washington, SPCA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving and protecting the animals of Yakima County. Our mission is to end animal suffering and cruelty, reduce animal overpopulation, and educate the public regarding responsible pet ownership while promoting community kindness and commitment to their welfare. We practice and promote the Humane treatment of animals through animal control services, pet adoption, education, information, referral and quality animal care. |
